Global Visionary at the Helm of Risk Management: An Exclusive Interview with Chief Risk Officer Zhong Yujia

In the realm of financial risk control, few individuals stand at the intersection of "systemic stability" and "strategic foresight." Zhong Yujia is one of them. From his role as Vice President at Zhejiang Commercial Bank Co., Ltd. Chengdu Xindu Branch to his current position as Chief Risk Officer at Sichuan Xinchen Lianghe Group Co., Ltd., this strategically minded expert, with a background in finance and deep experience in practical operations, is reshaping our understanding and imagination of "risk governance."

Recently, our magazine conducted an exclusive interview with Zhong Yujia, delving into his professional understanding of risk governance, leadership practices, and how to reshape risk identification and management systems through technological tools in a global context. "I believe risk is a language," Zhong Yujia began, "composed of signals and counter-signals, transcending industries, national borders, and regulatory systems. As long as you listen keenly enough, you can perceive its signs before the risk truly materializes."

Zhong Yujia's career began as General Manager at Sichuan Tianfu Ruiling Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd. During his tenure, he not only led the fund operations but also initially established an integrated risk control system featuring "pre-investment early warning + mid-investment dynamics + post-investment review." This mechanism later became the foundation for his comprehensive risk control architecture design in banks and corporate groups.

From 2019 to 2024, he served as Vice President at Zhejiang Commercial Bank Co., Ltd. Chengdu Xindu Branch, where he was in charge of overall business risk prevention and control. During this period, he led his team to introduce a dynamic risk monitoring system and pioneered a multi-dimensional credit risk monitoring model, shifting the branch's risk management from "post-event response" to "intelligent prediction." Due to his outstanding contributions in risk control and compliance, he was named an "Advanced Employee" for two consecutive years, receiving special recognition from Zhejiang Commercial Bank Co., Ltd. Chengdu Branch. This phase of management experience laid a solid foundation for his subsequent multinational risk strategy at the group level.

In April 2024, Zhong Yujia officially took up the position of Chief Risk Officer at Sichuan Xinchen Lianghe Group Co., Ltd. In this role, he is not only the "gatekeeper" of compliance and review but also the "strategist" for cross-border investment strategies. "Our investments are not just in projects, but in contending with country risks, market volatility, and policy uncertainties," he said with a smile.

As one of the key leaders of the company, he directly participates in the group's overseas investment decisions and has led the development of several technological achievements. One of these achievements, "A Global Asset Allocation Risk Exposure Quantitative Analysis System," not only won the 2024 Financial Risk Control Technology Application Achievement Award from the Australian Information Industry Association but has also been adopted by several well-known enterprises and institutions in the industry. "The ability to transform complex models into practical decision-making tools is the true implementation of risk governance," he pointed out.

Zhong Yujia emphasizes that modern risk management is no longer an adversarial defensive tool but an embedded system design project. He positions himself as a "risk governance architect" rather than just a controller. "Finding the minimal intervention point within complex structures has been my focus over the past few years," he said. In his view, the internal risk flow within the group and resource efficiency are essentially quantifiable and modelable.

In addition to his continuous professional exploration, Zhong Yujia actively expands his expertise. He began studying for an MBA in finance at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in 2024, integrating strategic management, international finance, and practical risk models to further bridge theory and practice. "Theory gives me a clearer abstract model of systemic risk, while practice teaches me which abstractions cannot be implemented," he said. His choice to attend Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business was also to gain a higher level of insight into cross-border capital flows and international regulatory coordination. This attitude of continuous progress and innovation has led to his outstanding achievements in the industry and his recognition as an Outstanding Figure in China's Financial Industry in 2025.

The reporter noted that he not only focuses on risk technology itself but also places great importance on risk culture at the organizational level. "A good risk system must rely on human judgment and common rules, not just be enforced by regulations," he emphasized. This is precisely the focus of the risk culture system he is currently promoting within the group.

"I believe that future risk management experts should not just be local tactical experts but global strategic collaborators," he concluded before the interview ended. This vision may well be the root of his continuous efforts to advance original technology, multinational models, and cultural governance together.

From a banking practitioner to a corporate strategist and then to an industry-leading technology innovator, Zhong Yujia's career trajectory illustrates the depth and breadth of a risk governance professional. His thinking and commitment to the industry are the essential safety foundations the world needs today.
